F150 Engine In Mustang

My son flipped his f150. It has the 5.4 Triton in it. My niece has a 96 mustang that she blow the engine. Im thinking of putting the F150 engine in it. Does anyone have any suggestions ????

My suggestion is you give her your engine and then you do the 5.4 swap!

HE DROPPED HIS PHONE AND WENT OFF THE ROAD AND OVER CORRECTED. FLIPPED IT 4 TIMES AND FLEWOUT THE WINDOW. HAD TO AIR-MED HIM TO HOSPITIAL. ENDED UP JUST BRUISED. THATS ALL. NO BROKEN BONES R NOTHING WALKED OUT ON HIS OWN. HE WAS VERY LUCKY. IMA POST SOME PICS UP

Ouch! Glad to hear he's alright. Keep us posted on this if you're gonna perform that swap. That'd be awesome to see :)

BTW - How did the 96 Stang blew it's engine?

Keep in mind, this will not be a direct drop in, and depending on rather or not the 96 is a V6 or GT is really going to have drastic effects on how much you're going to have to spend in aftermarket parts. Keep in mind the suspension out of a 96 may not support the engine properly, so it may sag a little, however a GT is much better set up than a V6, which basically needs everything to be changed out.

if it is the 4.6, it will be a way easier swap. i know in my car it is "almost" a direct drop in. there are a few things you will have to do, number 1 is widen the midpipe so you can attach the headers. number two, you probably wanna consider a different intake manifold (hardball'r is a good one for the swap) and you will have to recallibrate the cpu to work with a 5.4. this yeilds not alot of hp, but about 50 foot lbs of torque over a stock motor. personally if i were to do the swap, i would relocate the battery to the trunk to save some extra weight up front.
