Window regulator
« on: May 21, 2010, 02:49:20 PM »
So here's the situation....My drivers side window goes part of the way up and stops. I could hear the motor still going trying to raise it up but the window itself goes up slowly in increments. I went down to napa and talked to one of the guys there who also owns an sn95 and he said it's not the motor that's bad just the rubber spacers. He was telling me those are what usually goes bad with them (mustangs). I bought the spacers.....My problem is that I don't know how to get to the old ones to replace them :angry7:
Anybody know how to help me with this? I got the door panel off. Do I also have to completely remove the regulator and motor to?

Well...So much for that......Now The window won't go up or down....I've managed to get it up (hopefully it won't fall!). I'll just have to buy the whole assembly when I can.

See how the gear's different? Apperently this motor assembly is different...No spacers are used underneath the gear...It just sits in there. The other gear sits in the hexagonal space in the plastic gear...That's what's wrong...There's cracks all around the gear seat. I cant find the gear anywhere (Been to napa, autozone, advanced auto, and pepboys). I might just have to buy the whole motor assembly.

It cost me $70 at NAPA. It's cheaper at autozone....But I didn't wanna wait a day for it to come in. I'm just glad to get it fixed.
