I just can't decide.
« on: August 16, 2010, 08:34:10 PM »
I can't decide what part to buy next. I need to replace my h-pipe... What do you guys think h-pipe or x-pipe? The car is basically stock except for a cold-air and flowmaster exhaust system. Should I go ahead and upgrade the stock headers before doing anything with engine? Also was thinking about a chip... Let me know what you think!

Well I've already given you my opinion lol, but I would replace the headers when you do the x or h. It's up to you really, there is a very small difference in horsepower. What kind of tone are you looking for? The H will be a bit deeper, I think the X offers more of a raspy sound, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty much set on redoing the whole exhaust. So maybe I'll just save up and do it all at once. I'm thinking of going with the Borla Stinger S-Type Catback (http://www.americanmuscle.com/borla-s-catback-99-04-gt.html) or the SLP Loudmouth (http://www.americanmuscle.com/slpexhaust.html). I just don't know if Borla is worth the extra $200. Decisions decisions.

Borla's sound great, but they aren't cheap. If you have an extra $200 I would go for the Borla's.

That's probably what I'll do. Save up an extra $200 and get the Borla's.

In that case, long tubes + off road X + Borla's = SECKS!!!

Sit back, and let it work on you for a week... Preferably 2... If you still want one setup over another, get that one :D

You know I still haven't heard any borla exhaust in person before. Everyone I know has Flowmasters or Mac exhaust. I guess I'm missing out :-\

Day late dollar short as usual, but just for kicks, I have BBK long tubes and BBK off road H pipe, Matt can vouch for me it sounds great, buuutttt...until I had to get cats installed for VA state inspection. my hook up couldn't hook me up anymore..but it still sounds great and the cats, I have noticed more pick up on the throttle with the getting back pressure back . just my 2 cents.

Hit the clutch, the gear, the gas and I'm GONE!
