Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone has a backing plate for the waterpump on the 94-95 5.0 mustangs. After i tore out my old stock motor and sold it,and got my new motor dropped in i've been havin overheatin issues.Well first i figured id upgrade to a 3 row radiator.still didn't help.pressure tested system and found a couple other small things that needed replaced.well i fixed those and retested and couldn't figure out where the pressure was goin.Then i checked around the bottom side of the waterpump and noticed it was leakin,so i was like ok ill go order a new gasket for it.Guy at Napa asked which gasket,hes like the one for the backing plate or the one for the timing chain cover.Now i feel like a complete idiot cuz i never put a backing plate on or thought about it
if i would of done that i would of been enjoying the car alot more this summer! ..well duh no wonder its overheatin and leakin...can't circulate the coolant efficently..But if any1 has a extra one with the 2 bolts or just the plate that they could sell me would be great.
